Spring is here and I know I’m a little late for this post but its never too late for a wardrobe update according to seasons. There are hundreds of trends but these are my personal favorite that I want to include in my wardrobe.
This year runway was full of new trends and some trends were from last season. this is the first time we were seeing dressing up: Glitz, Glam, Feathers, Embellishment and to wiggle in pencil skirts, sheer layers, fantastic plastics. But it wasn’t only about it, we also saw sedentary staples which from the foundations of our wardrobes: Trench coats, Denim, Slip dresses. Let’s start with my favorites ones.
Pastels or you can call ice-cream hues. We see Lilac, Pink, Lemon or duck egg blue, expect to see an array of fashion’s prettiest shades this season. As Victoria Beckham said,”delicacy can be strong”.
Yes, you are guessing it right. We all have seen and have been a part of Sheer Tops, Skirts, Coats. But now its time for dresses. Evening dress codes are going to have to loosen up with Dolce & Gabbana, Dior, and Topshop.
Denim is have been always my favorite, and I can even bet you guys that its most of your fav too. I know it’s obvious because it’s the comfiest and chic at the same time. We all turn to this every second day of life, maybe because the fabric is strong, bold and can also bring out your feminine side! The Dark selvage denim was a thing in 2000. I never thought that we would see the return of tailored denim, but the designers like Tom Ford, Versus, and Tibi and Fend, bought it back just not with a punk but polished. The tailored denim is back for spring/summer 2018.
Where on one end we see pastels and lilac colors being on board, on the other end some designers were busy getting all board colors in a single strand of cloth like a rainbow. Seven different bold colors on a piece! I never thought that I would say this but now I’m curious to try this trend and see will I be able to pull it off, because I’m not a very big fan of colors. I prefer my clothes to be neutral but I don’t know how suddenly I’m attracted towards this trend. What do you guys think about this trend? I would love to hear your opinion on this trend.
For this trend, I took reference from the Chanel show by Karl Lagerfeld. The Spring- Summer 2018 Ready- to- wear Chanel Show was all about Plastic with a theme of nature. The show was filled with plastic from head to toe (handbags, gloves, boots, dresses, coats, hats, hoodies) and a social message that how much damage plastic makes to our environment (at least that what I assume). We can be held to Raf Simons for this trend as he was the one to introduce us to vinyl for the first time. But Raf introduced it for autumn and other designers are taking it to spring/summer. Here now this is where I’m not sure about it because I don’t think we would be able to pull it off in Indian summer. But that doesn’t change my opinion on this trend. I love this trend very much and even the thought/motive behind it. The futuristic fashion set has set their sights on a man-made future.
